Brief:
This is a 2-week luxury safari with your stay arranged in top class accommodation
on full board basis. You will visit Kenyas prime wildlife parks, abundant
with big game: lion, leopard, buffalo, rhinoceros and elephant. Bird life
viewing will be at the Rift Valley Lake, Lake Elementaita. If you happen
to visit between the months of July and October you will carry with you
one of the most unforgettable sights of your life: the great Wildebeest
Migration. Also not to be missed is the sparkling Kenyan beaches.
Itinerary:
Day
1: Arrive Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and transfer to
Fairview hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Day
2: After breakfast pick up and drive to Sweetwaters Tented Camp on the
slopes of Mt. Kenya in Sweetwaters Game Reserve. Arrive in time for lunch.
Afternoon visit to the new Visitors Centre- an educational centre where
visitors can learn about the ecosystem of the area followed by another
visit to the Chimpanzee Sanctuary- the only of its kind in Kenya. Here
you can enjoy the unique opportunity of observing the chimpanzees by the
boat on the Ewaso Nyiro River, which flows through the middle of the one-square-kilometre
of the sanctuary. Also to observed is the magnificent snowcapped peaks
of Mt. Kenya. Dinner and overnight at Sweetwaters Tented Lodge.
Day
3: After breakfast drive north to arrive at Samburu National Park and
check in at Samburu Intrepids Club. After lunch proceed for an afternoon
game drive in the park famous as the place for the Samburu semi-nomadic
tribesmen, the reticulated giraffe, the Grevy's zebra gerenuk, beisa oryx
and a host of the big game including elephant and lion. Dinner and overnight
at Samburu Intrepids Club.
Day
4: After breakfast leave for the adjacent Buffalo Springs National Park
and proceed for a game drive in the park. The Ewaso Nyiro River separates
the Buffalo Springs and Samburu. Apart from the Grevy's zebra most of
the other animals to be found in this park are more or less the same as
those found in Samburu. Lunch at Buffalo Springs Tented Lodge. Afternoon
visit to Shaba National Park, an excursion away, once the home of authoress
Joy Adamson. The park is a place where the quality of experience exceeds
the
quantity of wildlife. Dinner and overnight at Sarova Shaba Lodge.
Day
5: After an early morning breakfast leave the park and head further north
to Maralal Town and have lunch at Maralal Safari Lodge. Afternoon proceed
for a camelback riding safari - a very exhilarating experience. Dinner
and overnight at Maralal Safari Lodge.
Day
6: After breakfast head south to Lake Nakuru National Park with a stop
over for lunch at Impala Hotel in Nakuru town. In the afternoon proceed
for a game drive in the Lake Nakuru National Park where you will have
a chance to visit a unique sanctuary catering for a sizeable number of
the endangered rhinocerous and the Rothschild giraffe.
Waterbucks
are very common and the predators such as the lion and leopard. Also to
be seen is a myriad different variety of birdlife in and around the lake.
Dinner and overnight at Lake Nakuru Lodge.
Day
7: After breakfast leave the park and drive southwest to world's famous
Maasai Mara Game Reserve to arrive at Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp in time
for lunch. Later proceed for an afternoon game drive in the park. Dinner
and overnight at Kichwa Tembo.
Day
8: Full day of game activities in this reserve, which is Kenya's finest
wildlife sanctuary. Including migrants, well over 450 species of animals
have been recorded here. Although July, August and September are the months
when the Mara plains are filled with migrating wildebeest and zebra, there
are also resident wildlife year round.
The
famous Maasai tribesmen live within the dispersal area of the game reserve.
Meals
and overnight at Kichwa Tembo.

Day 9: Another full day of game activities in the reserve including a
visit to one of the Maasai tribesmen bomas (homestead).
Day
10: After breakfast leave Maasai Mara for Nairobi to arrive in time for
lunch at Fairview hotel. Afternoon at leisure. Evening pick up for a sumptuous
dinner at Carnivore Restaurant, on the outskirts of the city, famous for
succulent choice of roast game meat with music in the background. Later
pick up for the transfer back to the hotel. Overnight at Fairview hotel.
Day
11: Day at leisure. Pick up at 6.00pm and transfer to Nairobi Railway
station for an 1st class overnight train to Mombasa. Dinner will be served
on board.
Day
12: Meet and transfer (and stay for 2 nights) at Southern Palms Beach
Resort, located along the popular Diani Beach, south of Mombasa. The hotel
has 300 double rooms and two deluxe suites with a unique blend of Swahili
architecture, most with private balconies overlooking the sea. Restaurants
and bars facilities include the main and the Kusini restaurants serving
gourmet specialty cuisine. Nyama Choma Grill for tasty roast meat and
the Monsoon terrace with a great view of the swaying palms along the coastline.
The Island Palace bar is a domed pavilion set in the middle of the
pool with underwater stools and service. Recreational facilities include
two large free-form swimming pools (among the largest in East Africa),
outdoor Jacuzzi, windsurfing, tennis, squash, an open air discotheque
beside the pool and a gym.
Day
14: Pick up and transfer to the Mombasa airport for a flight to Nairobi
and connect with your flight home.
The
price for the above is US$ 1656 per adult sharing a double room. Single
room supplement is US$ 690. Children below the age of 12 years pay 67%.
