Kenya Family safari to Amboseli,Mountain Lodge,Samburu Manyattas,Masai Mara annual Wildbeeste Migration Spectacle

DAY 1 NAIROBI

Arrive in Nairobi, where your tour manager will meet and escort you to the Nairobi Serena Hotel. Briefing by your tour manager in your hotel followed by an afternoon sightseeing tour of Nairobi, including visits to the Karen Blixen Museum and Rothschild Giraffe centre, where the entire family can feed the giraffe, walk through the nature reserve and visit the education centre.

DAY 2 AMBOSELI

Breakfast and morning departure for the Amboseli game reserve. Lunch at Amboseli Serena Lodge, built in the design of a Masai ‘Manyatta’ or village, facing Mount Kilimanjaro. Enjoy your first game drive this afternoon in the Amboseli Game reserve following some of Africa’s greatest elephant herds. The entire family will also be invited to Plant acacia trees as part of the Amboseli Reforestation project.

DAY 3 AMBOSELI

Dawn is the perfect time for game viewing in the Amboseli, just as the sun rises over Kilimanjaro, return to your lodge for late breakfast and spend the rest of the morning relaxing by the pool. Another game viewing drive this afternoon around the lakes and springs fed by the melting snows of Kilimanjaro, home to a multitude of bird and animal species. Afternoon tea served on the summit of a nearby hill before returning to your lodge.

DAY 4 MOUNT KENYA

An early departure from Amboseli, returning to Nairobi for lunch, before continuing to mountain lodge, a luxury “ tree Lodge” built deep in the Mount Kenya forests. There may be time for an escorted walk through the forest to spot some rare bird and animal species. Enjoy an informative lecture after dinner by the resident naturalist. You can view wildlife gathering at the floodlight waterhole throughout the night from the comfort of your room

DAY 5 SAMBURU

Drive north through the town of Isiolo, occasionally passing nomadic Samburu tribesmen with their herds. Lunch at the Samburu Serena Lodge, built on the banks of the Uaso Nyiro River which flows through the heart of the wildlife sanctuary. Afternoon game drive in Samburu, home to the rare unusual reticulated Giraffe, the long necked gerenuk, the Grvey’s Zebra and the beisa oryx.

DAY 6 SAMBURU

Spend the full day in the Samburu game reserve, enjoying early morning and late afternoon game drives. Large baboon troops feed close to the river, out of range of crocodile basking on nearby sand banks. You may even encounter leopard in the branches of a nearby acacia tree. Visit the local Samburu Manyatta and witness tribal dancing and have children’s faces painted in traditional Samburu style

DAY 7+8

Drive south this morning,passing through the town of Isiolo, arriving at the Ol Pejeta wildlife Sanctuary, one of the few private sanctuaries in Kenya. Lunch at sweetwaters Camo, a luxury tented Camp built facing Mount Kenya, followed by an afternoon of wildlife viewing by vehicle, on foot or horseback. As Ol Pejeta is a private sanctuary, walking and riding safaris are allowed. The highlight of your stay will be a visit to the chimpanzee sanctuary established by Dr. Jane Goodall.

DAY 9

Breakfast and transfer to Nanyuki and board your flight to the Masai Mara Game Reseerve. Your safari vehicle and guide will be waiting for you in the Mara, and you will embark on a game viewing drive that takes you to the Mara Serenas Lodge. Or similar lodge. Lunch and afternoon game viewing in the Masai Mara Game Reserve.

DAY 10

A full day of game viewing in the Masai Mara Reserve.Vast herds of wildebeest and xebra wander across the Mara grasslands, their numbers increasing during the annual migration from the Serengeti. Lion, leopard and cheetah follow close behind, while crocodile and hippo congregate in the Mara and Talek rivers. A visit to the local Masai village can also be arranged.

Morning flight to Nairobi with transfers on arrival to your hotel. Afternoon free for shopping.
